# Númenor physical-volume material register

Númenor shares the atlas's stationary mahogany study desk while retaining its
own royal indigo-and-bronze presentation. No additional third-party source
files are introduced by this treatment.

## Shared mahogany desk

The desk uses `maps/shared/assets/materials/atlas-mahogany-v1.webp`, derived
from Poly Haven's CC0 [Dark Wood](https://polyhaven.com/a/dark_wood). Full
authorship, processing, and checksum details are recorded in the
[shared study-material register](../../../shared/assets/materials/CREDITS.md).

## Royal indigo leather mount

The mount reuses `middle-earth-green-leather-v1.webp`, the project's optimized
derivative of Poly Haven's CC0 [Brown Leather](https://polyhaven.com/a/brown_leather)
by Rob Tuytel. A non-destructive display filter and indigo tint distinguish the
Númenórean treatment. Source processing and checksum details are recorded in

## Bronze frame texture

The frame reuses `middle-earth-frame-brass-v1.webp`, derived from Poly Haven's
CC0 [Metal Plate 02](https://polyhaven.com/a/metal_plate_02) by Rob Tuytel. The
Númenor stylesheet gives the shared wear texture its own bronze, sea-patina,
and white-stone color balance.

## Original project work

The multi-rail frame geometry, responsive indigo mount, compass-star corner
ornaments, wave arc, compositing, and Leaflet integration are original project
work. The ornaments are rendered from inline SVG and contain no third-party
illustration.

## Royal leather opening cover (2026-09-05)

The layered cover and spine reuse the above CC0 Brown Leather derivative,
with a 320px texture repeat (half Middle-earth's scale), a luminosity blend
over ocean and midnight blue, and a broad satin highlight. The source file
is unchanged and remains shared; no additional texture download is needed.

The antique-gold cover seal and faint sea-green pattern on ivory endpaper
reuse the original `../numenor-frontispiece-ornament.svg` compass-star drawing.
Gold tooling, spine bands, restrained edge wear, board thickness, page edges,
lighting, and the hinged CSS animation are original project work.
